Terms of service

Last updated 13 October 2026.

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Spanzo (“we”). By playing at spanzo.app, opening a challenge link or buying Pro you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the game. Our privacy policy explains how we handle data and is part of these terms.

1. The game

Spanzo is a daily estimation game: you place a mystery item on a scale between two anchors and score points for closeness. One free Daily per day, unlimited friend challenges and public leaderboards are free. Scores, streaks and leaderboard positions are for fun; they have no monetary value and we may adjust or reset them to correct errors or abuse.

2. Accounts

You can play as a guest. Signing in uses a one-time link sent to your email; there is no password. You are responsible for the email account you use and for keeping sign-in links to yourself: anyone who opens a link signs in as you. Tell us at [email protected] if you suspect misuse. You must be at least 13 to play and at least 18 (or have a parent's permission) to buy Pro. One account per person.

3. Pro subscription

4. Fair play and acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may remove names, reset scores, suspend accounts or block access when these rules are broken, and we may do so without notice where needed to protect the game or others.

5. Content and intellectual property

The game, its design, code, question bank, scoring and brand are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and trademark law. We grant you a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use them to play. Facts themselves are not owned by anyone; each round credits its source, and third-party names, products and trademarks are mentioned only to identify what the question is about. Nothing here implies endorsement by their owners.

If you believe content on Spanzo infringes your rights, email [email protected] with the URL, a description of the work and your contact details and we will review and, where justified, remove it promptly.

6. Your content

Display names and question reports you submit may be shown to other players (names) or used to improve questions (reports). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use them for operating and improving the game, and you confirm you have the right to submit them.

7. Accuracy and availability

Questions are researched from the sources credited on each round, but facts change and mistakes happen. The game is for entertainment and must not be relied on for any other purpose. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service (including free features) at any time; we will try to give notice for anything that affects paid Pro, and the refund rule in section 3 applies if Pro is discontinued mid-period.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Spanzo is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or uninterrupted availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, lost data or lost profits arising from your use of the game, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Pro in the 12 months before the claim (or USD 20 if you paid nothing). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury, fraud or your statutory consumer rights.

9. Indemnity

If you use the game in breach of these terms and a third party makes a claim against us as a result, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages that follow from your breach.

10. Termination

You can stop using the game at any time and ask us to delete your account at [email protected]. We may close accounts that breach these terms. Sections 5, 6, 8, 9 and 12 survive termination.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version; material changes are announced on this page and, for Pro subscribers, by email at least 14 days before they apply. Continuing to play after that is acceptance; if you do not agree you may cancel Pro before the change takes effect.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and other places with mandatory consumer rules keep the protection of their local law and courts. Before going to court, write to us at [email protected]; most issues are solved within a few days. If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies.
